Tradier portfolio tracker & trading journal

Connect Tradier read-only, combine it with every other broker you use, and see what your trading decisions actually cost you.

In short

StackViewer connects to Tradier through SnapTrade using read-only OAuth. It imports your equity and option positions, your filled order history and your cash and margin balances, merges them with your other brokers into one portfolio, and then analyses the decisions behind the numbers — entry and exit quality, opportunity cost, and the patterns in how you trade options. Because Tradier is an execution-first, API-native broker often driven by a third-party front end, StackViewer gives you the performance and behavioural layer those front ends usually leave out. Connecting Tradier is free.

What syncs from Tradier

Positions

Every open equity and option position, with quantity, cost basis and current market value. Multi-leg option positions come across leg by leg, so a vertical or an iron condor shows each contract rather than a single net line — StackViewer groups them back into the strategy for you.

Trade history

Filled equity and option orders from your Tradier transaction history, including expirations and assignments. This is what powers the journal: fill price, side, quantity and date for each leg, so realised P&L on closed options trades is reconstructed rather than estimated.

Cash & balances

Total account value, cash balance and margin/buying-power figures as Tradier reports them. Because most Tradier accounts are USD margin accounts, the cash line is single-currency and reconciles cleanly against your positions.

Dividends

Dividend and interest credits that appear in your Tradier account history are picked up as income events and flow into the dividend calendar and yield-on-cost figures — useful if you hold equities under a covered-call program.

What does not come across: open working orders and conditional/OCO orders that have not filled, live options-chain quotes and greeks (StackViewer is not a real-time quote feed), the paper-trading sandbox account, and any analytics or tags you keep inside a third-party platform such as your charting or order-flow front end. Futures and forex activity handled through Tradier Futures (a separate entity) is outside the equities/options scope SnapTrade reads.

Sync runs three times a day and position values refresh about every 30 minutes during market hours. StackViewer is not a real-time tool and is not built for day trading.

What Tradier's own reporting doesn't show you

Tradier is deliberately an execution engine, not a portfolio dashboard. The whole point of the Brokerage API is that you bring your own front end — a charting platform, an options scanner, a bespoke bot — and Tradier handles the fills at a flat rate. That design is great for cost and control, but it means there is no single, opinionated performance screen that follows you across the tools you use. Your fills live in Tradier; your charts and notes live somewhere else; and the question "how am I actually doing on my spreads this quarter, after commissions and assignments?" has no home. Most Tradier users end up rebuilding that answer in a spreadsheet, pulling the account history endpoint by hand and reconciling multi-leg option closes themselves.

StackViewer is that missing layer. It normalises your Tradier fills into strategy-level trades, calculates a true time-weighted return that is not distorted by deposits or withdrawals, and then applies the behavioural analysis a raw fills list can't: tag each trade with your reason, conviction and emotion, and StackViewer surfaces the patterns — the strikes you consistently close too early, the "revenge" entries after a losing week, the setups where your win rate is real versus where it's survivorship. Alongside 15+ risk metrics (Sharpe, Sortino, Alpha, Beta, Max Drawdown and Value at Risk), you get a read on both the maths and the psychology of an options book, without abandoning the front end you already trade from. If you are the kind of Tradier user who has read the SnapTrade and Tradier API docs end to end, this is the reporting you would otherwise build yourself.

Also use Interactive Brokers?

Plenty of Tradier traders keep Interactive Brokers alongside it — Tradier for cheap, flat-rate US options execution through a preferred front end, IBKR for global market access, deeper margin and instruments Tradier doesn't carry. The problem is two account values, two currencies of thinking, and no honest combined number. Connect both and StackViewer produces a single time-weighted return across the two accounts, a combined diversification score, and one dividend calendar — rather than two apps you mentally add together.

WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS WHEN YOU CONNECT You click “connect” Your broker's own login page password typed here read token StackViewer reads positions & trades Cannot place trades move money see credentials revoke at your broker, any time, one click The token is issued by your broker and scoped to reading. Trading permission is never requested, so it cannot be granted — by us, or by anyone who compromised our systems.
Your credentials are typed on your broker's own site and never reach StackViewer. What comes back is a read-scoped token — trading permission is never requested, so it cannot be granted.

Is it safe to connect Tradier?

The connection is read-only OAuth through SnapTrade. You log in on Tradier's own site — StackViewer never sees your credentials and never stores them. The token that comes back can read positions and history and nothing else: StackViewer cannot place a trade or move a dollar, and no trading permission is requested at any point. This matters more than usual with Tradier, because its Brokerage API can place equity and complex option orders — StackViewer deliberately never asks for that scope. You can revoke access from inside Tradier whenever you want, and if the token expires you simply re-authorise; no positions are lost.

Data is encrypted with AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.2+ in transit, authentication runs on AWS Cognito with optional TOTP MFA, and you can export everything to CSV or delete your account at any time. Full detail on the security page.

Frequently asked

Is it safe to connect Tradier to StackViewer?
Yes — read-only OAuth through SnapTrade. StackViewer never sees your Tradier credentials and cannot trade or move money. Revoke it from Tradier in one click.
Can StackViewer place trades on my Tradier account?
No. The token is read-only and trading permission is never requested — even though Tradier's own API supports order placement, StackViewer only requests read scope.
How often does Tradier data sync?
Three times a day, with position values refreshed roughly every 30 minutes during market hours. It is not real-time, so intraday scalps will lag the live chain.
Is the Tradier integration free?
Yes, on the free plan, with no credit card.
What Tradier data does StackViewer import?
Equity and option positions with cost basis, your filled equity and multi-leg option orders, cash and margin balances, and dividend/interest activity. Open working orders, live chain quotes and third-party front-end analytics are not imported.
