DEGIRO portfolio tracker & trading journal

Connect DEGIRO read-only, combine it with every other broker you use, and see what your trading decisions actually cost you.

In short

StackViewer connects to DEGIRO through SnapTrade using read-only OAuth. It imports your positions, transaction history and multi-currency cash balances, merges them with your other brokers into one portfolio, and then rebuilds the performance analytics DEGIRO leaves out — a true time-weighted return, 15+ risk metrics, and analysis of the decisions behind the numbers. DEGIRO's own interface shows you current value and a basic gain/loss against cost; almost nothing else. Connecting DEGIRO to StackViewer is free.

What syncs from DEGIRO

Positions

Your open holdings — stocks, ETFs, bonds and options — with quantity, average cost and current market value. Positions across DEGIRO's supported markets (Euronext Amsterdam, Xetra, LSE, US exchanges and more) come across in the currency they trade in, so a portfolio spanning EUR, USD and GBP names arrives intact.

Trade history

Executed buys and sells with date, price, quantity and the commission and handling fee DEGIRO charged. StackViewer uses this transaction record — not a snapshot — to reconstruct your cost basis and a genuine time-weighted return.

Cash & balances

Your cash position in each currency you hold. Because DEGIRO can run a separate cash balance per currency when Manual FX is enabled, StackViewer reflects those balances individually rather than collapsing everything into your base currency.

Dividends

Dividend receipts and cash movements as they appear in your account activity, so income is attributed to the position that generated it and folded into your total return alongside price gains.

What does not come across: DEGIRO's own tax and annual reports, custody-fee line items and Core Selection eligibility flags are not exposed as structured data and do not sync. Depth of historical trades depends on what your DEGIRO account returns through SnapTrade — very old transactions from long-dormant accounts may not backfill completely, and options detail is limited to what DEGIRO reports. Real-time intraday pricing is not part of the feed.

Sync runs three times a day and position values refresh about every 30 minutes during market hours. StackViewer is not a real-time tool and is not built for day trading.

What DEGIRO's own reporting doesn't show you

DEGIRO is the EU's low-cost flagship — genuinely cheap commissions and no per-deposit FX make it the default broker for buy-and-hold investors across the Netherlands, Germany and Spain. What it is not is an analytics platform. Inside the DEGIRO app you get a portfolio list, a current value, a balance chart and a plain gain/loss figure measured against your cost. There is no time-weighted return, no money-weighted (IRR) return, no Sharpe or Sortino, no benchmark comparison against something like VWCE or your local index, and no way to see how much of a “gain” on a US holding is real capital growth versus a swing in the euro-dollar rate. For a platform this popular, the performance gap is remarkable — and it is exactly the gap this page exists to close.

The multi-currency mechanics make that gap worse. DEGIRO's default AutoFX converts foreign dividends and trade proceeds into your base currency automatically at a small fee, while Manual FX (which you switch on per currency) lets you hold, say, a USD cash balance and convert on your own terms. Either way, your DEGIRO screen blends currency movements and transaction costs straight into one number, so you can never tell whether a position made money or the exchange rate did. StackViewer keeps trades in their traded currency, separates FX effect from capital return, and treats DEGIRO's commissions and handling fees as the real cost drag they are — then reports a Sharpe ratio, Max Drawdown, Alpha, Beta, VaR and the rest across the whole account. On top of that, its behavioural layer lets you tag each trade with a reason, conviction level and emotion, so a year of DEGIRO decisions becomes a journal you can actually learn from rather than a static balance line.

Also use Interactive Brokers?

Plenty of DEGIRO investors keep a second account at Interactive Brokers — DEGIRO for cheap European ETF and stock buys, IBKR for wider market access, options and multi-currency reach. The trouble is that each app measures return its own way, so you end up eyeballing two dashboards and guessing at the combined picture. Connect both and StackViewer produces a single time-weighted return across the two accounts, a combined diversification score, and one dividend calendar — rather than two apps you mentally add together.

WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS WHEN YOU CONNECT You click “connect” Your broker's own login page password typed here read token StackViewer reads positions & trades Cannot place trades move money see credentials revoke at your broker, any time, one click The token is issued by your broker and scoped to reading. Trading permission is never requested, so it cannot be granted — by us, or by anyone who compromised our systems.
Your credentials are typed on your broker's own site and never reach StackViewer. What comes back is a read-scoped token — trading permission is never requested, so it cannot be granted.

Is it safe to connect DEGIRO?

The connection is read-only OAuth through SnapTrade. You log in on DEGIRO's own site — StackViewer never sees your credentials and never stores them. The token that comes back can read positions and history and nothing else: StackViewer cannot place a trade or move a euro, and no trading permission is requested at any point. You can revoke access from inside DEGIRO whenever you want.

Data is encrypted with AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.2+ in transit, authentication runs on AWS Cognito with optional TOTP MFA, and you can export everything to CSV or delete your account at any time. Full detail on the security page.

Which other brokers can you connect?

No. The token is read-only and trading permission is never requested.
How often does DEGIRO data sync?
Three times a day, with position values refreshed roughly every 30 minutes during market hours.

Yes, on the free plan, with no credit card.
What DEGIRO data does StackViewer import?
